Pitching for an event can be a difficult one, especially when there is a lot of competition. You and your team need to be able to sell your ideas over another event companies. Easy right? Not really, so here are some tactics to help you nail your next event pitch.
BEGIN WITH A HOOK
Every second counts when you are given a pitch, especially when you have a limited number of minutes to deliver it. So make sure that you capture your client’s attention straight away. You can do this by beginning with a hook like asking a question or using humour.
GIVE YOUR PRESENTATION AN INTERESTING TITLE
Create suspense for the client by naming your pitch something creative and unique to their company. This way while you are setting up they will be intrigued to learn more information about what the next 20 minutes or so has in store.
PAINT THE PICTURE
By painting a picture of the event, the client will be able to fully immerse himself or herself into what the event should hopefully look like. This is important, as the client should be able to feel themselves and their employees at the event. So be specific and describe what they will touch, feel and hear at the event.
TELL A STORY
Everyone loves a good story and especially a story that is from experience. Create and tell a story with your pitch. Have a beginning to an end and allow the clients to picture what they will be doing on the day.
END WITH A CONVERSATION
Last but by no means least, end with a conversation. By this we mean end with a question or something that leaves the client intrigued to ask you questions or to find out more about your pitch.
