Very recently Instagram introduced Instagram Stories, a new feature that lets you share all the moments of your day, not just the ones you want to keep on your profile. As you share multiple photos and videos, they appear together in a slideshow format: your story. This will allows all your guests to snap your event & share it with friends & followers. It is also a great tool for businesses as it is the perfect solution to ‘oversharing’ and clogging up your followers newsfeeds with multiple photos. The story will allow you to share as much as you’d like and your followers can choose to watch it or not!

Create your very own Snapchat Geofilter!

Geofilters are a fun way to share where you are, or what you’re up to, by adding a fun overlay to your Snap. If you have location services and Filters enabled, Geofilters appear at thousands of places around the world. After you take a snap, swipe to see what’s around! Businesses can purchase On-Demand Geofilters for their event, business, or a specific location. This is a great way to spread the word about your event and get attendees interacting.

Display the Twitter stream

You can use services that display the tweets with your event hashtag on the screens around the event. Displaying the attendees’ tweets boost the interaction and encourages them to keep posting. For some seeing their tweet on the big screen gives them a platform to express their thoughts and opinion. In addition why not hold twitter competition for the best tweet, photo etc. with the incentive of fun prizes.

Create an Event Hashtag

Create a unique hashtag that incorporates the event & brand for your attendees to use across all social media platforms. Having a hashtag helps connect people at the event and those who are not but would like to contribute from afar. This is also a great way to use your attendees to help document the event & come out with some fantastic candid photographs.

Photo Booth & Props:

An almost effortless way to further encourage event attendees to post socially about your event (with your branded hashtag, of course) is to set up a photo area with a simple branded backdrop and fun and entertaining props. An idea we love to use is a branded Instagram cut-out. You can personalise this with your own companies account and the events hashtags. Not only will this encourage people to have some fun together but also to post on their own social media accounts.
